Help - Submitting an Article to the Unit of 1 Website

You can submit articles about your area of expertise to the Unit of 1 website.

Publishing an article to our audience of small business owners can help gain exposure for you and your services.

The process is fairly straightforward - but can be a little intimidating if you're not familiar with HTML editing. Here's the basic process to follow when posting an article that you've authored in Microsoft Word.
  • Open the document in word
  • Select all the text (Ctrl-A)
  • Copy all of the text (Ctrl-C)
  • Go to the unit of 1 website and clicked on the Submit Article link
  • Put your cursor in the "Remainder of article" box and paste the text of your article there (Ctrl-V)
  • Type in the title of your article
  • Pick the topic for your article from the drop down list.
  • Then cut and paste the leading paragraph of your article out of the "remainder of article" box and into "first paragraph" box
  • Preview your document (as HTML)
  • If your document shows up as 1 big paragraph - go through and insert line breaks, e.g., insert "&ltbr&gt&ltbr&gt" after your bullet items and in between the paragraphs.
  • As a last formatting step - convert any links to your website to a live hyperlink by changing www.topular.com to &lta href="http://www.topular.com"&gtwww.topular.com&lt/a&gt
  • Preview it again, and when you're happy - click OK.
