Events: April 9th - Breakfast Club - Making Sure Two Heads Are Really Better than One

Posted on Thursday, March 28, 2002 @ 09:06 AM EST

amichalek writes "Are you an idea person who could really use a partner who's great at follow-through? Do you offer a terrific service but lack access to the most lucrative markets? It may be time to think about collaborating with someone whose talents and connections complement yours. When you collaborate, you can offer more services to clients who want the convenience of "one-stop shopping." And having a partner allows each of you to focus on your own strengths, talents, and business goals.

Professional writer George Milite will draw from his experience and discuss the elements that make collaborating work. He'll also talk about how to spot signs that a collaboration is in trouble--and when it shouldn't take place at all. He'll finish up with a list of guidelines for good collaborating--including how to divide responsibilities, how to respect each other's strengths, and how to make collaborating increase your networking opportunities.

Join us: Tuesday, April 9th, 8 am
Conshohocken Marriott
Attendance limited - RSVP now!

George Milite is a professional writer and editor who focuses on the "people" side of business--communication, work-family issues, management-employee relations. He has also written and spoken extensively on self-employment issues. Originally an editor at the American Management Association, he has been an independent for 13 years and has collaborated with colleagues on a number of ventures. He is a longtime member and past president of the Editorial Freelancers Association and is on the adjunct faculty of New School University.

Join us for a morning of networking with other independent professionals. The Unit of 1 group's goal is to help support members grow their businesses.

During a typical Breakfast Club meeting, members discuss lesssons learned in the past month, make referrals, and discuss the current issues impacting their businesses.

Membership is free. New members are welcome.

The breakfast buffet costs $12 - if you're just drinking coffee and OJ - we just ask that you chip in a dollar or so for the tip.
