Re: Are Mom's Penalized for Bragging about their Kids? (Score: 1) by amichalek (andrea@REMOVE.CAPS.FOR.EMAILunitof1.com) on Tuesday, July 26, 2005 @ 03:21 PM EDT (User Info | Send a Message) http://www.1800cto.com | Interestingly enough, today I was on a phone call with a vendor. I had hoped to evaluate their solution by today, but had some client meetings, and was unable to get it done.
The sales person on the phone had remarked, "I know you're a mom too, so that's a full time job, and I understand how you didn't get this done."
I know this was probably just small talk, but it makes you wonder how widespread the assumption is that if you're a mom, you can't be focused on your business.
(In this case, the fact that I had a child had NOTHING to do that I didn't evaluate this product. It was simply that the task did not rank high enough on my priority list to get to it.)
Go figure.
