Mark Hughes, the Chief Executive Officer of Buzzmarketing.com, and the author of the forthcoming book "Buzzmarketing: Get People to Talk About Your Stuff," will be the featured speaker at the Unit of 1 Breakfast Club, Thursday, March 10, 2005 at the Philadelphia Marriott West in West Conshohocken, PA. Hughes is a word of mouth marketing expert both in consumer marketing and internal employee communication marketing. His career includes stints at PepsiCo's Pizza Hut division and American Mobile Satellite (now XM Satellite Radio). He was a Vice President at Pep Boys, running a $42 million marketing budget, and most famously, the Vice President of marketing for Half.com, which sold to eBay in less than six months for $300 million and grew from zero to 8 million registered users in three years. Hughes has an MBA from Columbia Business School in Marketing and International Business. Hughes is a guest lecturer on creative marketing at New York University and the University of Pennsylvania, and serves on the Board of Advisors for several companies. He is a contributing columnist for the magazine of international advertising knowledge, Admap. His forthcoming book, Buzzmarketing arrives in July 2005 from publisher Penguin/Portfolio.
