ericleesmith writes "I've consulted on and off for over twenty years, but it wasn't until my last consulting stretch (1997-98) that I finally figured out how to make it really work for me. How did I do that? Simple. I read this book:
Million Dollar Consulting
by Alan Weiss
The effect the book had on my business was to increase my effectiveness AND my income by roughly 100% in six months. My copy of the book is literally covered with notes and as I reread it today, I see that many of the ideas Mr. Weiss presents are now part of my day-to-day working life.
The most important concept for me was "charging based on value, not based on time." That one change in my practice made everything better and my clients happier.
I feel so strongly that this book will help you that I make this promise: if you get the book, read it, and don't find it helpful, I'll buy the copy from you for whatever you paid for it. Do we have a deal?
All the best,
Eric"
