Tool Box: Ad Blocking Utility

Posted on Sunday, November 11, 2001 @ 01:51 PM EST

johnfb writes "If you are annoyed by ads popping up or otherwise disrupting your browsing, try WebWasher at www.webwasher.com. It is free for individuals and does a very good job of blocking most ads.

The only down side is that depending upon how you configure it, some scripts required to make a site functional will not run when it is turned on. For those sites you can turn it off with one click on its icon in the System Tray and then Refresh your browser and you'll be in business."

While some online ads can be quite annoying, don't forget that they are paying for the content that you are enjoying...
